We are pleased to introduce our newest message board called Scripture Exploration.  It's purpose will be the sharing of opinions and research of individuals.  It will not be an attempt to indoctrinate anyone.  As always our goal is to make people think.  All that we ask is that besides following our basic rules that posters keep this board for the study of the Bible.  We have other message boards for just about every subject under the sun.  You can see the other message boards at the C -n- C.

Since the fall of man evil, selfish men have brought misery upon the world. Though the ages they have enslaved many by force or fear. Through fear they can control people and enslave them. Today the story is the same and we often feel hopeless. We pray for, work for and fight for change, only to be faced with more of the same. Maybe things really are changing for the better and we do not see it because of evil men shirring up fear. It really does not matter if these fears are real or imaginary, the affect is the same. I do not wish to address any particular issue which might provoke such fears; instead I want to focus on how we handle these fears. I have put together this video of Psalms 37 which I have found to be a real help. If I were to pick out one passage it would be this, for it speaks of how God always takes care of those who put their full trust in Him.

The steps of a man are established by the LORD,
And He delights in his way.
When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong,
Because the LORD is the One who holds his hand.
I have been young and now I am old,
Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken
Or his descendants begging bread.
All day long he is gracious and lends,
And his descendants are a blessing.

That was really good, it's so easy to be caught up in everything that the world throws at you and forget this. That Psalm really put it good. Thanks.

What I have found is that it does not matter where the fear is coming from and that it is a waste of time trying to resolve it by discrediting the source of the fear. We can prove absolutely that some fears are based on nothing but lies, but the emotion will remain even through we know in our heads that there is no reason to worry or be afraid. The answer to the emotion of fear is in the soul, not the head. That is why putting our full trust in Jesus and turning all of our fears over to Him will bring us the peace that we all crave.

Well Marty you have finally done it, you have posted something that I can agree with you 100%.  I don't trust anyone who is trying to motivate me with fear, if I feel rushed I slow down so that I avoid making mistakes.  If someone says that an offer is only good today, I'll pass on it every time!  If someone says that if we don't act right away or it will be too late, I wait and they will tell me the same story the next day, the next week and the next year.  I've always gone by the rule that, "Fools rush in."  Where I believe in personal responsibility I too know that God will never fail the faithful.

It's nice to see us all agreeing on something and we should remember that there are selfish people who use fear to trick others into buying whatever they are selling.  What I try to do is when think that I'm being manipulated is to take it to the Lord. It really does help to seek God out and turn all things over to Him.
